About Project
SPEFIX is a smart search widget developed by the UNWEB team to enhance on-site search functionality.
Its goal is to help users quickly find relevant products or information, even when their queries contain typos or synonyms. The service is fast, easily integrates into any website within minutes, and adapts to the site’s design. SPEFIX is already helping online stores increase conversions and improve the overall user experience.
The cooperation between UNWEB and SPEFIX has been ongoing since spring 2025.
We received the MVP version of the product after another team had to implement it "from scratch" to achieve the desired results.
Solution
Since the first version of the client’s product didn’t meet expectations, we decided to rebuild it from scratch. At the same time, we kept key technical elements such as existing service integrations and API versioning to ensure smooth system operation.
We updated the technology stack, which allowed us to implement a faster and more accurate search that better matches user queries. We also developed a user-friendly personal dashboard and a powerful admin panel for managing content and system settings.
In addition, we used artificial intelligence to automatically build a synonym database and rank search results. The algorithms take into account analytical data from websites to display the most relevant results for each query.
Staging
Improved the existing search.
Search result speed increased nearly 100 times (from 7 seconds to ~70ms).
Implemented User Dashboard V2.
We completely built the user dashboard from scratch, slightly updated the design, and added all the necessary functionality. As a result, the conversion rate from the landing page increased.
Integrated an AI model.
We integrated AI into Spefix to automatically generate a synonym database and improve search accuracy — results became more relevant and better adapted to user behavior.
Results
As a result of the collaboration with UNWEB, Spefix received a fully redesigned, fast, and scalable product that significantly improved the user experience.
The new interface, flexible admin panel, and AI-powered smart search enhanced result accuracy, increased conversion rates, and reduced query processing time. Thanks to this modern technical solution, Spefix reached a new level of quality and became ready for active scaling.
